In 2011 the waterlevel in the Rhine was very low and the banks gave away all kinds of secrets: from shoes and carparts till kitchenrubbish from the inlandshipping vessels. This rubbish formed the inspiration for the paintings 'Rhinebankfunds'. I started the series in waterpaint and developed the subject further in oilpaint.
